The Centre for Imaging Technology Commercialization (CImTeC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bart Sullivan as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Sullivan will provide strategic direction to CImTeC in achieving its vision of being a driving force in the advancement and growth of the Canadian medical imaging technology sector.

Sullivan brings a wealth of skills and experience to CImTeC. Over a successful, 28-year career with 3M Canada, he was a vice-president and member of the company's Board of Directors. He led the medical imaging division, where he was responsible for delivery of its business plan and acquired a good understanding both of the industry and the technologies.

In March 2009, Sullivan joined the London Economic Development Corporation as Director of Business Development for Life Sciences. While there, he attracted new investment in the sector and worked with existing businesses to help them in their growth and development.

Over his career, Sullivan has developed strong working relationships with the academic, business and government sectors. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Business of Administration (MBA) degrees from McMaster University.

"I'm very excited to play a role in helping CImTeC accelerate the commercialization of innovations in medical imaging," said Mr. Sullivan. "Canada has tremendous strengths in this area and I am looking forward to helping transform these strengths into tangible economic and health benefits."

"CImTeC is a key player in fostering and supporting new and existing companies as they transform Canadian-made innovation into economic success," said CImTeC Centre Director Aaron Fenster. "Bart's leadership strengths and his knowledge of the life sciences and medical imaging fields will move CImTeC forward in achieving its goals of improving health and healthcare."
