Congratulations to Dr. Judith Belle Brown on receiving the prestigious Day-Garrett Award
Judith Belle Brown, Professor in the Department of Family Medicine has been named a 2026 recipient of the prestigious Day-Garrett Award from the Smith College School for Social Work. Established in 1978, this lifetime achievement is named for Florence Day and Annette Garrett. This award pays tribute to a distinguished alum whose lifelong dedication and accomplishments have left an indelible mark on the profession of social work, serving as an enduring source of inspiration for future generations. Dr. Brown’s selection is particularly notable as she is the first Canadian recipient. This recognition reflects her longstanding contributions to the field of social work, alongside her significant impact on graduate education and research within the Department of Family Medicine. The awards ceremony took place on July 30th at Smith College School, in Northampton, Massachusetts. Please join us congratulating Dr. Brown on this well-deserved recognition.
