PMO Office changes

In 2012, the Project Management Office (PMO) at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry was established on a short-term basis, in response to the Deloitte Report, which the School undertook in 2011.

Dale Shelley, director was hired to lead the PMO and shortly after Vita Windrim joined the Office as a Senior Consultant and Business Analyst, bringing with them many years of experience of process and project work from the private sector.

In their roles with the PMO, they accomplished a number of key achievements including operationalizing recommendations from the Deloitte Report, completing operations and process reviews including staffing models within all the units of the Dean’s Office and Dentistry, as well as several other areas within the School, project managing initiatives such as the London Medical Innovation and Commercialization Network, and establishing new training programs in a number of areas such as standard operating procedures and change management. During the past three years, Dale’s role was also expanded to include supervision of the training and e-learning portfolios in the Strategic Technology Commons (STC) unit.

On December 31, 2015, the contracts for the PMO, as well as for Dale and Vita will conclude. The intent is to now transition the Office to a quality control, decision support and business analytics office with project management and process mapping capacities.

With this change to the PMO, staff from STC and the PMO will be welcomed as members to different teams within the Dean’s Office.

Susan Morgan, who serves in the role as Trainer, will join the Human Resources Team and report into Betty Holme, director, Organizational Effectiveness.

Jay Loftus, instructional designer, and WeiKai Huang, educational developer, will join the Education Team and report into John Ruicci, director, Education. They will also have a dotted-line report into Sergio Rodriguez, director, Information Services.

Jennifer Lepore, project manager, will jointly report into Sergio Rodriguez and will be advancing several key projects within Dentistry.

Please join me in thanking Dale and Vita for their tremendous contributions to Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.
