Announcement: Dr. Robert Stein re-appointed as Assistant Dean, Learner Experience (UME), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry
We are pleased to announce the re-appointment of Dr. Robert Stein as Assistant Dean, Learner Experience (UME), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2027.
Dr. Stein received his BSc at McGill University in 1993 and his MDCM in 1997. He completed his general paediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital and a three-year fellowship in paediatric endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children. In 2001, Dr. Stein became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in Paediatrics.
Dr. Stein joined the Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre as a paediatric endocrinologist in 2003, and has been Division Head since 2015. He serves as Medical Director for Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with Type 1 diabetes. Prior to joining the Learner Experience Office, he coordinated the Endocrinology and Metabolism course at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and held the Chair of the Clerkship and Electives Committee.
In 2011, Dr. Stein received the Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME). Dr. Stein was a recipient of the Regional Camp Award from the Canadian Diabetes Association in 2012. Additionally, he has consistently been a member of the University Students' Council Teaching Honour Roll. Dr. Stein was awarded the Douglas Bocking Award for excellence in medical teaching at the Schulich School of Medicine in 2020.
