Awards: Faculty, learners honoured with CAME Awards

Faculty and learners at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry were recently honoured with awards from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME).

The annual CAME Awards recognize excellence in medical education.

Dr. Bertha Garcia, Acting Vice Dean and Director, Dentistry, and Dr. Patricia Valcke, Adjunct Professor in Family Medicine at the Windsor Campus, were named recipients of CAME Certificate of Merit Awards.

The Certificate of Merit Awards honour faculty members who have made an exceptional contribution to medical education throughout their academic career.

Three learners at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry were also recognized as CAME Rising Star Certificate of Excellence recipients: medical student Max Stone, resident Dr. Beatrice Preti and PhD candidate Olivia Ghosh-Swaby.

The Rising Star awards recognize learners who have demonstrated a commitment and passion for medical education through research, curriculum and workshop development, leadership or advocacy.
