Announcement: Drs. Keith Sequeira and Robert Teasell appointed interim Co-Chair/Chiefs, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Keith Sequeira and Robert Teasell have been re-appointed as interim Co-Chair/Chiefs of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, and its teaching hospitals, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care London, effective February 1, 2022, to June 30, 2022, or until or until a new Chair is appointed.
Dr. Robert Teasell is currently Research Director of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Acting Medical Scientific Lead of the Gray Centre for Activity and Mobility and interim Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Previously, he was Chair-Chief of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation for more than 12 years ending in 2012. Additionally, Dr. Teasell is the lead researcher of the Collaboration of Rehabilitation Research Evidence at Parkwood Institute.
Dr. Keith Sequeira is the Medical Director of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at Parkwood Institute, a position he has held since 2011. He has been interim Chief of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since December 2020. Dr. Sequeira is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Previously, he was the Postgraduate Program Director for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Sequeira is the Co-Chief Examiner of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialty Certification Examination.
The interim period will hold a Co-Chief/Co-Chair model. The leadership group looks forward to working collectively to best support the clinical and departmental operations through this time. The leadership team will work collaboratively to ensure the optimal functioning of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation as a whole.
