Announcement: 2022 CaRMS Match Results

The match results from the first iteration of the 2022 Canadian Resident Matching Service process were made available to medical students across Canada on April 12.

Overall, 95 per cent of Schulich Medicine students were successful in the first iteration of the match, while the Canadian match rate was 93.6 per cent.

Forty per cent of Schulich Medicine students matched to the School’s postgraduate residency training programs, with the remainder matching to centres from coast-to-coast. More than half of the students matched to Family Medicine, with others matching to a wide variety of medical and surgical specialties.

“We are pleased with the results of the first iteration of the match, which align with our historical match data,” said Dr. Shannon Venance, Vice Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education. “The results are also a testament to the resilience of the Class completing their training in highly uncertain times.”

A group of students will be working closely with academic coaches and receiving support through the Learner Experience Office as they continue into the second iteration of the match process, with final results available on May 12.
