Award: Dr. Davy Cheng receives Society of Perioperative Research and Care Distinguished Service Award
Congratulations to Dr. Davy Cheng, recipient of the inaugural Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Perioperative Research and Care.
The Award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to perioperative medicine on a local, national and international scale over an extended time. They also have mentored individuals building careers in perioperative care and made a substantial impact on research and education.
Dr. Cheng is recognized as a health care expert and world leader in research, practice and policy in the fields of surgical perioperative and anesthesia care, cardiac surgery and critical care medicine. His pioneering work in fast-track cardiac anesthesia and recovery has established a standard of practice around the world.
He is the founder and Chair of the Evidence-based Perioperative Clinical Outcomes Research Group (EPiCOR) and is the co-founder and Medical Director of the Centre for Medical Evidence, Decision Integrity & Clinical Impact (MEDICI) at Western University and London’s teaching hospitals. Dr. Cheng is also the founding Medical Director of the Cardiac Surgery Recovery Unit, Critical Care Medicine Division, Department of Medicine at London Health Sciences Centre.
The Distinguished Service Award was formally presented to Dr. Cheng at the 2019 Perioperative Care Congress.
