Announcement: Ali Khan, PhD, named Canada Research Chair in Computational Neuroimaging

Ali Khan, PhD, was named the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Computational Neuroimaging. Khan is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Medical Biophysics and Scientist at Robarts Research Institute.

The Tier 2 designation is awarded to exceptional emerging researchers recognized for their potential to lead in their fields. "I’m honoured and thrilled to be joining the ranks of fellow Canada Research Chairs across the country," said Khan. "CRCs have built a reputation of research excellence, and with this title, I feel even more compelled to take my research to the next level."

Khan's research brings together the latest advances in brain imaging with novel computational techniques. This work will directly benefit patients with epilepsy and other neurological disorders and translate to better diagnosis and treatment.

"The research proposed for this CRC will develop imaging and image analytics for quantifying structure in the brain, and will also address translation to the clinic through evaluation in patients with epilepsy," Khan explained. "This award will provide me with the resources to fund a number of trainees in the lab, and the CRC title will give me the international presence to ensure I attract the highest calibre trainees."
