Announcement: Dr. James Johnson re-appointed as the Graham King Research Chair

I am pleased to announce Dr. James Johnson has been re-appointed as the Graham King Research Chair at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre within the Department of Surgery, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2022.

A major focus on Dr. Johnson’s research has been the engineering-based development of testing systems for biomechanical studies of the elbow, wrist and shoulder. He has been actively involved in the design, development and analysis of implant systems. The long-term objective of Dr. Johnson’s research is to explain the biomechanics of the shoulder and provide a comprehensive approach to its evaluation.

During the past four and a half years, Dr. Johnson has published more than 64 papers. In total, he has published more than 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Johnson has supervised more than 50 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Dr. Johnson’s team has received a variety of awards including, Resident Research Day Best Podium Presenter Award from 2012 - 2014, Robert Zhong Department of Surgery Research Day Best Paper Award in 2015 and Canadian Bone and Joint Conference Best Paper Award- National Conference Research Award in 2016.
