Announcement: Dr. Robert Stein appointed Assistant Dean, Learner Equity & Wellness, Undergraduate
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robert Stein as Assistant Dean, Learner Equity & Wellness, Undergraduate, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2019.
Dr. Stein completed his BSc at McGill University in 1993, and his MD in 1997. He completed his general paediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital and a three-year fellowship in paediatric endocrinology training at the Hospital for Sick Children. In 2001, Dr. Stein earned the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in Paediatrics.
Dr. Stein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. He joined Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, London Health Science Centre as a paediatric endocrinologist in 2003. He serves as Medical Director for Camp Discovery (CDA), a summer camp for children with type 1 diabetes. Previously, Dr. Stein coordinated the Endocrinology and Metabolism course at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and held the Chair of the Clerkship and Electives Committee, which oversees all activities of the Year 3 and Year 4 curriculum.
In 2011, Dr. Stein received the Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME). Dr. Stein was a recipient of the Regional Camp Award from the Canadian Diabetes Association in 2012. Additionally, he has consistently been a member of the University Students’ Council Teaching Honour Roll (2006-2008, 2011, 2015).
