Celebrating your achievements - April 6

Congratulations to the Schulich community on your recent achievements:

Congratulations to professors Dr. Ali Bateman and Dr. Frank Myslik for being included in London Inc. Magazine’s Top 20 Under 40 for 2023. The list includes leaders across a range of industries excelling in their individual endeavours. But if there is a commonality among them, it is that they are creating opportunities not just for themselves, but also for others.

Congratulations to Neuroscience PhD Candidate, Michaela Kent, on her feature in Western University’s Inspiring Minds Showcase. Kent’s research aims to answer the question “But how does speaking to someone online differ from our normal face-to-face conversations?” by using optical neuroimaging and shining a light into the brain to measure blood flow, giving an indication of brain activity.

Congratulations to the 2023 Rowntree Prize in Medical History recipients Helen Jin, Meds2025, for her presentation on "Reconstructing Identity: Dr. Harold Gillies and the Role of Facial Reconstruction in Defining Essential Care” and Danielle Vucenovic, Meds 2026, for her presentation on “New Century, Same Struggle: The Grapple Between Optometry and Ophthalmology”.

Congratulations also to the 2023 Harvey Club of London Prize recipient Jelena Poleksic, Meds2023, for her presentation on “Birds, Birdcages, and Bedlam:  Visualizing the Victorian Asylum through Material Culture”.
