Congratulations to the Schulich community on your recent achievements:

Congratulations to Dr. Nicole Campbell for receiving the Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching. Described by her colleagues as “one of the most recognized and lauded” educators within their faculty, Prof. Nicole Campbell is also renowned as an academic leader at the national level. Campbell serves as the director of the undergraduate and graduate interdisciplinary medical science programs, both of which she’s overhauled considerably during her tenure.

Congratulations to Dr. Frank Myslik for being awarded the Marilyn Robinson Award of Excellence in Teaching. Myslik is “a proven leader in curriculum and educational opportunity development,” making strides throughout his career to improve his department and the entire faculty. Myslik’s expertise lies in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), where he has made “tremendous efforts to make the system more accessible by creating a new fourth-year course, which is now one of the most popular courses.”

Congratulations to Dr. Alp Sener for being selected as the Inaugural recipient of the John Sangster Research Award for Excellence in the amount of $5,000, for Sener’s Innovation Fund project #INN18-013 "The Effect of Sodium Thiosulfate Organ Preservation in Human Donation after Cardiac Death Renal Transplantation".

Congratulations to the following students for receiving the AFMC Graduate Student Research Awards:
- Aminmohamed Manji was the Lindau nominee and Gold Medalist from Physiology and Pharmacology. The Lindau nominee was a tie this year and is recognized as the highest honour for students.
- Mitchell Mumby received an honourable mention from Microbiology & Immunology.
- Katherine Quesnel received an honourable mention from Anatomy & Cell Biology.
- Austyn Roseborough received a silver award and her MD/PhD.

Congratulations to professors Emeriti Robert B. Bourne and Cecil H. Rorabeck for being honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Awards from The Hip Society.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory of Medicine would like to offer congratulations to Damir Rosic, who has completed his MSc in Pathology. The title of Damir’s thesis is “Characterizing Human Papillomavirus Associated Oral Epithelial Dysplasia."

The Edgell, Gloor, Heinemann, Karas, and O'Donoghue labs and their collaborators have had their publication placed in the top 100 of 2022's most downloaded papers in Scientific Reports (category of Cell and Molecular Biology). Congrats to all of the authors on their achievements!
