Areas of Interest

Our research group is dedicated to advancing epilepsy research and improving patient outcomes through a multidisciplinary approach. Our key areas of interest include:

Neuroimaging

We utilize advanced imaging techniques, such as MRI, fMRI, PET, and MEG, to explore brain structure and function. These tools enable us to identify epileptogenic zones, study seizure propagation, and understand the neural networks involved in epilepsy.

Electrophysiology

By employing invasive and non-invasive methods, including EEG, SEEG, and ECoG, we investigate the electrical activity of the brain. This research aims to uncover the mechanisms underlying seizures and improve neuromodulation therapies.

Genetics

Our work in epilepsy genetics focuses on identifying the genetic variations and pathways associated with seizure disorders. By integrating genetic data with clinical and neuroimaging findings, we aim to develop targeted, personalized treatment approaches.

Social and Community Research

We prioritize understanding the broader impacts of epilepsy, including social, psychological, and community-related challenges faced by patients and their families. Our research seeks to address stigma, improve quality of life, and promote equitable access to care.
