The Western Epilepsy Research Registry (WERR)

WERR is a research initiative aimed at streamlining the recruitment process for epilepsy studies and supporting ongoing research at Western University. The registry is open to all individuals diagnosed with epilepsy who are aged 18 and older. The registry also allows substitute decision makers (SDM) to sign consent on behalf of a participants.

  • By joining the registry, participants consent to have their medical data—including contact details and epilepsy-related information—stored and used for research recruitment and data analysis purposes. This registry helps to connect interested participants with relevant research opportunities while ensuring the confidentiality of their information.
  • Recruitment for the registry is currently being conducted by Dr. Suller Marti's research team in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Outpatient Clinic at University Hospital. Flyers with a QR code are also posted throughout University Hospital for those interested in participating.
  • Participation is entirely voluntary, and individuals can withdraw at any time without affecting their care. If you meet the criteria or are an SDM for someone who does, and are interested in participating, please follow this link or scan the QR code in the flyer.
