Profile
Dr. Sreelatha Varapravan is a practicing psychiatrist in the Treatment and Rehabilitation Program at Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care, St. Joseph’s Healthcare London since 2009. She received her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University, India and completed psychiatry residency training at the Western University. Dr. Varapravan is the Undergraduate Education Director in the department of Psychiatry since 2015. Her academic interests include leadership, educational innovation, enrichment programs, mentorship, wellness and competency based education. Her clinical interests include Psycho Social Rehabilitation, treatment of individuals with severe persistent mental disorder, assessment of complex tertiary care referrals, providing consultancy in shared care models in family health teams. Dr. Varapravan is also involved in qualitative research projects. Some of them include improving the quality of outpatient care by enhancing frontline staff’s Psycho Social Rehabilitation assessment and intervention skills, using an innovative e-learning platform and Enhancing suicide risk assessment in medical students using an interactive e-learning platform
