Dr. Robert Gratton is an Associate Professor and Maternal Fetal Medicine consultant at London Health Sciences Centre with over 20 years of clinical experience in obstetrical and maternal fetal medicine subspecialty practice. He recently completed a six year term as Chief of Obstetrics at London Health Sciences Centre.  He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology). Trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Western Ontario, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine for a fellowship Maternal Fetal Medicine. 

Dr. Gratton’s academic interest and research is in the area of quality of care and patient safety. He developed the first Obstetrical Triage Acuity Scale (OTAS©) which is implemented in hospitals across Canada and in other countries. This research received an Accreditation Canada Leading Practice Award and an AMOSO Provincial Innovation Award. He is involved provincially and nationally in quality of care. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Gratton is a member of the Maternal and Perinatal Review Committee, Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, a member of the Council, the Finance Committee and the Obstetrical Panel, Inquires, Complaints and Review Committee, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a member of the Obstetrical Review Committee for the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada.
