Biography

Dr. Tamara Kuzma, MD, MSc, FRCSC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, and Chair of the department’s Competence Committee.

Dr. Kuzma completed her medical degree and MSc in Global Health at the University of Alberta, residency in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Saskatchewan, and fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Calgary. She is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.  Her clinical expertise is in cervical cancer prevention, medical and fertility sparing management of gynecologic malignancies, menopause management after cancer treatment and treatment of vulvar dermatologic conditions.

Her academic interests include curriculum development, mentorship, and physician wellness. She previously served as Course Chair for the Professionalism, Career & Wellness program in Undergraduate Medical Education, and currently leads a funded study exploring the impact of disability and serious illness on physicians’ careers. She has completed teacher training in Mindful Self-Compassion, and she integrates these practices into teaching and advocacy, with a commitment to advancing both women’s health and the well-being of medical trainees and physicians.
