Annual Registration Process

To continue your postgraduate training at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, you must complete all PGME and Medical Affairs requirements each academic year (July 1–June 30). Instructions and reminders are emailed annually in the spring.

Access the PGME Registration tab in the Schulich Hub for a list of all mandatory registration renewal requirements.

Required Steps

  • Log in to the Schulich Hub using your Western credentials.
  • Navigate to My Info → LOA tab.
  • Accept the LOA information in the Hub.
  • PGME will forward your LOA information to the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) on your behalf.
Clinical Fellows: you received a .pdf LOA for the duration of your appointment, you do not sign a LOA each year.

The CPSO opens the license renewal process in mid-April. You will receive a notification through your CPSO Member Portal when your renewal is available.

  • You must Verify your LOA before the CPSO can release your renewal.
  • Complete your renewal before your license expires.

Login to CPSO Member Portal

  • Log in to the Schulich Hub and go to the PGME Registration tab.
  • Click the PGME Registration form sub-tab and complete the mandatory form.
  • Go to the My Fees tab and pay the annual registration fee if applicable.

Residents: Your LOA is sent to your Western email each year in March

Failure to complete registration renewal may result in:

Being pulled from service
Suspension of pay
Delayed license renewal
CPSO Registration Committee review
Temporary suspension from training
