Hisham Akhtar

Hisham Akhtar is currently completing his Gastroenterology fellowship at Western University. 

He initially moved to Ireland for his medical studies and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before moving to London for Internal Medicine training. He was chosen as Chief Medical Resident during his final year of residency.

His research predominantly involves the management of IBD patients and use of biologic therapy in non-IBD enteritis. 

Outside of academia, he enjoys photography, travelling and playing intramural soccer.
