About Us

The Schulich Office of Equity and Social Accountability supports, engages, and empowers the entire Schulich community to embed principles of equity, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and Truth and Reconciliation across all that we do. The office functions to connect, convene and amplify existing efforts and guides the School toward more inclusive and equitable structures, processes, and practices, aligned with institutional priorities, national frameworks, and the communities we serve.

Equity leadership at Schulich is decentralized: every department, unit, learner group, and community partner is a core collaborator in fulfilling our shared responsibilities for equity, social accountability, and Truth and Reconciliation. Advancing this work is a collective opportunity to shape how we learn, work, and educate across a complex academic and healthcare landscape.

Our Commitments:

  1. Embed equity and social accountability principles, and Truth and Reconciliation actions across Schulich's units, programs and departments
  2. Support a strategic and collaborative network of equity and social accountability leaders across the School
  3. Build trust and shared purpose to coordinate action toward lasting, systemic change
  4. Advance social accountability by listening, learning, and responding to the health needs of our region and beyond
