Dr. Laura Atkinson
Year 1Biography: Laura is from New Zealand and received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with distinction) from the University of Otago in 2012. Upon graduation she gained invaluable experience as a Dental House Officer with the Maxillofacial Surgery team in three Auckland hospitals. Laura spent ten years practicing dentistry between NZ and Ontario, including time in Nunavut providing care to remote Inuit communities. Prior to specializing, Laura worked as a Professional Practice Fellow at the University of Otago providing instruction in restorative dentistry. Laura is thrilled to be back in school pursuing her dream of becoming an orthodontist. When she is not studying, Laura is hiking with her family, playing with her two young daughters, or planning her next travel adventure.
Dr. Donna Ensan
Year 1Biography: Donna received her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) from the University of Ottawa. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Toronto in 2021 and continued her training by completing a one-year general practice residency (GPR) at NYU Langone in New York City, where she was able to hone her skills in dentistry. She worked in private practice in Toronto for a year before pursuing her passion for orthodontics. In her spare time, Donna loves cooking , travelling the world, and spending time with her dog, Gucci!
Dr. Arezoo Ensafi

Dr. Wei Bi
Year 2Biography: Wei underwent pre-dental education in computer engineering at McGill University and received his doctorat en médecine dentaire (DMD) from the renowned Université de Montréal. He worked in general dentistry in Montreal before beginning orthodontic training at Western. His research interests include retention checks and artificial intelligence. In his spare time, he enjoys marketing to the general public, networking with general practitioners, and fraternalizing with his co-residents.
Dr. Jennifer Nguyen
Year 2Biography: Jennifer is from Toronto and completed her BSc at Western University with a Specialization in Biology and Major in East Asian Studies. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Sydney in Australia, then completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of British Columbia with a focus on oral surgery and medically complex patient care. She was a staff hospital dentist at CAMH, taught at the University of Toronto dental school, and worked in private practice prior to joining the Western Grad Ortho program. Her research interests are in public health, health equity, health policy, trauma-informed care, craniofacial growth and development, and oral health.
Dr. Peter Servinis
Year 2Biography: Peter received his BScH from Queen’s University, prior to completing his Dental Degree at McGill University in Montreal. After graduating, he moved to New York City to complete his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at NYU Langone Health in Manhattan. He then worked in private practice in Toronto where his interest in Orthodontics was sparked. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, running, and has a passion for trying new foods.
