    Moderate Conscious Sedation

    This 3-day hybrid course (includes Medical Emergencies course held via "Live" Zoom), will have dentists leave with the knowledge of how to safely and effectively incorporate nitrous oxide and oxygen into their practice, as well as, oral benzodiazepines alone or in combination with nitrous oxide. Also as part of the requirement, participants will review more comment and more dangerous emergencies that we might face in dental clinics. There is a written examination for certification with the RCDSO.

We will review office set-ups as well as treatment steps (including emergency drugs) and strategies to make your team more competent and more comfortable.

    Cone Beam - CBCT

    This course will discuss the didactic and clinical components of owning, operating and interpreting cone-beam CT image volumes. This course will review radiation physics and biology concepts, discuss common radiologic pathoses that involve the jaws and provide simulated clinical CBCT training. This course meets the RCDSO educational requirements for dentists seeking authorization to order, take, interpret and report dentoalveolar (small field-of-view) CT (DACT) scans.

    Dr. Abbas Jessani is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and the Coordinator for Community Dental Outreach at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. Dr. Jessani completed his graduate training in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia, with a focus on public health dentistry. His current projects are exploring the unmet oral health needs and barriers to oral healthcare amongst marginalized populations, such as people living with HIV, LGBTQ2S and other underserved populations

    Dr. Gordon Payne: "Zen and the Art of Paediatric Dentistry" Friday, November 11, 2016 2:15 - 4:00 p.m. University Hospital, Auditorium A, 3rd floor Dr. Payne is an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Division of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry at Western University, where he has taught for over 25 years. In 2004, he was awarded the C.Y. Lung Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is also Associate Chief Examiner in Paediatric Dentistry for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In 2013, he was awarded a Fellowship in the International College of Dentists. Dr. Payne is a Past President of the London and District Dental Society and a consultant at both the London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre.
