PLANNING SUCCESSFUL REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES |
Instructor:
Cecilia E. ARAGON, |
Description: Treating patients with removable partial dentures could be alternatively frustrating and rewarding. Combining fixed and removable prosthetics is sometimes necessary for partially edentulous patients and is one of the most challenging aspects of comprehensive dentistry. During our full day course we will discuss how this prosthetic success can become very predictable for you and your patients. Using selected case studies you will learn a programmed approach to treatment planning, but more importantly a programmed approach to treatment sequencing that will ensure success with these cases. |

~ HOMECOMING CELEBRATION~PROVEN PRACTICES & NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN IMPLANT THERAPY
Instructor:
Allen R. BURGOYNE, |
Description: Research and technology in all disciplines of dentistry has changed the way we deliver predictable therapy to our patients in ways that we could not have imagined. Even though these technologies have changed the way we practice, the sound foundation of proven practices introduced to us as students is what I rely on everyday to make the best decisions I can to deliver implant treatment to my patients. With the use of CBCT scanning surgical planning and guided placement can be accomplished. The philosophy of restorative planning from the crow down and how it relates to intra-oral impressions and CADCAM technology will be discussed. Making impressions using intra-oral scan systems can accurately capture soft tissue and finish lines, allowing for very accurately contoured final restorations. CAD-CAM software can import the intra-oral scan data to produce restorations without laboratory models, saving the entire team time and financial resources. Developments in technology are rapidly changing the way we practice dentistry in the operatory and laboratory. The implant team ( surgeon, restorative doctor, and laboratory technician) must work together and incorporate technology to the treatment workflow . It has been stated that advancements in technology offer better solutions for our patients. Proponents will have us believe that patients are better served because technology will improve long-term outcomes; treatment is more efficient and thus less costly. Most of these advantages do not have long-term data to back the claims that are made. How do you choose a new technology to incorporate into your delivery of implant therapy? Is it cost effective for you? Is this digitally assisted therapy better than the proven practices that we know? Participants will:
