Two researchers in the Department of Pathology have been awarded operating grants from the Canadian Diabetes Association. Congratulations to Subrata Chakrabarti whose submission "Pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy" will receive almost $275,000 over three years, and to Zia Khan on receiving just over $206,000 to study "Vascular stem cells in diabetic complications."

The CDA is a leading supporter of diabetes research in Canada. Since 1975, it has awarded more than $100 million in research grants and awards to scientists, who have dedicated themselves to helping us achieve the CDA mission: To lead the fight against diabetes by helping people with diabetes lead healthy lives while we work to find a cure.
