Health economists meet at Western

The 10th annual meeting of the Canadian Health Economists' Study Group (CHESG) will be held at The University of Western Ontario on July 8th and 9th. The conference is being organized by Sisira Sarma of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry's Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Greg Zaric of the Richard Ivey School of Business. Some of the topics being discussed include: the impact of smoking bans, physical activity and health outcomes, demand for hospital care and private health insurance in a mixed public-private system, defensive medicine, and the relationship between mortality and business rates in the U.S. The full program can be found at www.chesg.ca
