Chairs reappointed for two Schulich departments

Dr. Karen Campbell has been renewed in her role as Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Her second term commenced January 2009 and will continue to June 2015

Dr. Miguel Valvano has also been reappointed to the role of Chair in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, as of January 1, 2009 and will end December 31, 2015. Dr. Valvano will be on a one-year study leave from January to December 2009. Dr. David Heinrich has taken up the role of Acting Chair.

February 4 - Teaching Support Centre Workshop: 3D Learning Objects

Instructor: Tim Wilson
Time: 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Place: Teaching Support Centre (Room 121, Weldon Library)
In this session you will be introduced to two methods by which 3D learning objects are created. Several stereoscopic, also known as 3D models, will be illustrated for your viewing pleasure and two ongoing educational studies will be presented that aim to evaluate the efficacy of stereoscopy in both the classroom and laboratory environments. Although these learning objects are currently being geared for anatomy, come and dream about where you or your students might make use of better spatial and depth perception in your particular field.

Four Wednesday evenings of Queer/LGBT-related films and informal discussion. The UWO OpenMeds club invites students, staff, and faculty of the Schulich School to our first-ever Queer Film Series.
