Empowering Young Women in STEM
The Western Women in Neuroscience graduate student group is committed to inspiring and empowering young women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Working in partnership with Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and Western’s BrainsCAN, they hosted the second daylong conference featuring a research poster competition, learning sessions with industry leaders, graduate trainees and faculty. The nearly 250 attendees learned from presenters addressing the unique challenges women in STEM fields encounter and benefited from advice and encouragement offered.
