To apply for an International & Health Equity Learning (IHEL) opportunity (clinical placement) please complete the form below during our application window.
Applications for 3rd year students to complete clinical electives during 4th year open on Monday, May 18th.
Applications will close on July 20th.
Late applications will not be accepted.
Travel typically occurs between September and December of the academic year, or during T2MD.
You will receive confirmation from the Internationalization Office once your application is received and under review.
Selection results will be announced roughly two weeks after applications close. Successful applications must confirm or decline their offer.

The four destinations available for travel to Y4 students are listed below. Students must travel for two clinical blocks.
- Joint Clinical Research Centre (Kampala, Uganda), travel between September and December and again during T2MD.
- VinUniversity (Hanoi, Vietnam), travel between October and December, or during T2MD.
- Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (Shenzhen, China), travel during T2MD on a curated trip.
- Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (Dublin, Ireland), travel between September and December or during T2MD.
Should you wish to organize your own independent placement, you may do so. Please review the information on the Independently-Organized Placements page and submit your application there.
