Homecoming 2015 Dean’s Distinguished Lecturer announced

We are pleased to announce that Bonnie Schmidt, PhD’93, has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Dean’s Distinguished Lecture award. Schmidt is the President and Founder of Let’s Talk Science — an award-winning, national and charitable organization dedicated to science education and outreach in support of youth development.

As a part of Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s exciting lineup of Homecoming celebrations, Schmidt will give a thought-provoking presentation at the 2015 Dean’s Distinguished Lecture, taking place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.

Schmidt’s lecture “Inspiring Futures” will examine the founding of Let’s Talk Science, from the program’s conception at Western University to its transformation into a national science literacy movement. Two decades, thousands of volunteers and millions of kids later, Schmidt will share why youth engagement in science, technology, engineering and math is more important than ever.

The event is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members. Please register online by Friday, September 18.
