She completed her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar in 2016, followed by four years of residency in Internal Medicine and three years in Geriatric Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation. From 2017 until her relocation to Canada, she served as a Clinical Associate at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, where she was actively involved in medical student clinical education. During her geriatric training, she developed a strong interest in expanding geriatric services, including the Acute Geriatric Unit and Consultation-Liaison service.

She recently joined the Division of Geriatric Medicine at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
Her clinical and academic work focuses on hip fracture care, secondary fracture prevention, and frailty management. She is particularly interested in quality improvement, clinic flow optimization, and integrating osteoporosis and falls services to develop coordinated, multidisciplinary pathways that reduce fragmentation across the continuum of care.
Dr. Al-Baz is actively involved in hip fracture quality initiatives and post-fracture pathway development. She is a Project ECHO hub team member and contributes to education and knowledge translation in geriatric fracture care across Southwestern Ontario.
