The Gerald C. Baines Centre for Translational Cancer Research is home to the Molecular Imaging Laboratory. This laboratory specializes in producing chemical compounds that will provide researchers with new ways of visualizing cancer in the body and underlying cancer biology in order to develop new diagnostics and treatment tools.

The laboratory includes specialized radio-labeling and radiochemistry equipment to enable the production of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)  standards of Health Canada as well as regulations of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

The Molecular Imaging Laboratory is lead by its principal researcher, Dr. Len Luyt. For more information on Dr. Luyt's research and his team, please visit the lab's website and follow them on twitter.
