As a Department within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, the Department of Oncology includes Divisions of Radiation, Medical, Surgical and Experimental Oncology. Our faculty conduct clinical, translational and basic cancer research in collaboration with our citywide partners including Western University, the Lawson Health Research Institute and Robarts Research Institute. We have vibrant education programs at the undergraduate (including clinical oncology teaching at the Windsor Campus) and postgraduate levels for clinical and basic science trainees. We are closely linked to the London Regional Cancer Program/London Health Sciences Centre and share a vision of integrated cancer care, research and education that aligns with the Schulich mission of outstanding education with a research intensive environment.

The development of strong research skills and the provision of medical care are inextricably linked. That’s why the research experience is stressed during the four years of the undergraduate medical education (UME) program. And it’s why the School has integrated research into the core curriculum, as well as offering several programs for students to become involved throughout their years of study.
