Financial Support

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry endeavors to provide a competitive funding package for all eligible full-time students. All students admitted to the program receive funding: MSc students for 2 years and PhD students for 4 years. (Funding is not available for the MSc Clinical Medical Biophysics - CAMPEP Stream Program).

MSc Annual Stipend

As a Medical Biophysics MSc student, you will receive a funding support package totalling at least $32,000 effective September 2025. This package includes $24,100/year to assist with your living expenses, plus additional funding to cover the cost of your tuition & fees.

Funding Support Package Guarantee For The Length of Time To Complete A MSc Degree: MSc stipends are guaranteed for 2 years which is the time required to complete this degree.

Funding is not available for MSc Clinical Medical Biophysics - CAMPEP graduate program.

PhD Annual Stipend

As a Medical Biophysics MSc student, you will receive a funding support package totalling at least $33,000 effective September 2025. This package includes $25,100/year to assist with your living expenses, plus additional funding to cover the cost of your tuition & fees.
 

Funding Support Package Guarantee for the Length of Time To Complete A PhD Degree Under The Following Conditions:

      • If you are entering our PhD program after completing a MSc degree, your basic stipend is guaranteed for 4 years which is the time required to complete a PhD degree.
      • If you are directly entering our PhD program after completing a Bachelor’s degree, your basic stipend is guaranteed for 5 years.
      • If you reclassify from a MSc degree in our program to a PhD degree, your basic stipend is guaranteed for 5 years from your initial registration date as a MSc student.

All students are encouraged to apply for external funding from such sources as the Canada Graduate Scholarships. Current 4th year undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply for external scholarships if you are thinking of applying to a graduate program!
