Road to Recovery Update #10 – January 8 – Building Access Reminder

Dear faculty, staff and learners,

With some faculty, staff and learners continuing to work and learn from home, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry buildings will remain on card access only until further notice. This is in keeping with buildings across campus, as unlocked and under-occupied buildings present a security risk. Buildings are not locked down or closed; it is business as usual except that you will need a valid card to enter the buildings.

This affects the following buildings:

  • Clinical Skills Building;
  • Health Sciences Addition;
  • Kresge Building;
  • Medical Sciences Building;
  • Molecular Biology Laboratory.
The Dental Sciences Building (DSB) will require card access for all entry points, with the exception of the clinic entrance, which will be unlocked to facilitate urgent care.

If you are coming to these buildings, please use your Western ONECard for access.

The DSB loading dock and dental stores will remain open, however, the loading dock door will be locked. Delivery drivers can call dental stores or knock on the window and the staff there will assist them.

Robarts Research Institute, Siebens Drake Research Institute and the Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine have been on card access only since our return to campus and will continue to operate in that manner.

Thank you.
