Visiting Researchers

We would like to welcome Dr. Sheila Butler's master student, Rafaela Passos from Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil. Rafaela arrived at the end of August and she will be performing research under Dr. Butler's supervision until the end of February 2024 as part of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas (ELAP) Program. 

Faculty Achievements

Congratulations to Dr. Abbas Jessani who received the Collaborative Research Grant: Western University for the project titled "The experiences of accessing healthcare services by people living with HIV in Southwestern Ontario: from service user perspective to curricular changes." Dr. Jessani also received a professional honourary fellowship from the American College of Dentists (ACD).

 

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Brandon Jeffrey Tapp, BSc Hon. One Health, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, for receiving a gold medal for his undergraduate thesis titled "Self-perceived unmet oral healthcare needs of pregnant women in Rwanda."

Congratulations to Maria Rahman for successfully defending her Master's thesis in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Maria was supervised by Dr. Noha Gomaa and her research assessed inequalities in oral health and dental care utilization in an Ontario-representative sample of adolescents and young adults.

Congratulations to Kevin Zhou for receiving a conference scholarship from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine at the school’s 2023 Global Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry.
