Dr. Sarah McLean
Dr. Sarah McLean is an Associate Professor, Teaching Scholar, in the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology. She is the faculty lead for LIFT. Her teaching and research is focused on community and student engagement, including teaching a capstone community-engaged learning course and working with multiple community organizations to promote health equity and access for underserved populations. She is particularly passionate about advocating for and supporting people experiencing homelessness. Dr. McLean was deeply involved in the inception of LIFT (formerly MaSCOT), and is so excited to see the future of this program.
Maria Rodriguez
Maria Rodriguez works as Experiential Learning Coordinator at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. She supports undergraduate and graduate experiential learning opportunities (including LIFT) by serving as a liaison between faculty, students, and community partners. She is passionate about building equitable and sustainable partnerships and connecting students with meaningful, community-based opportunities that create mutual benefit and foster growth for both students and partners. She is excited about the growth LIFT has experienced over the past year and looks forward to continuing to expand and strengthen the program.
Mobeen Faiz
Mobeen is a Master's of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences candidate at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Like many students today, she faced challenges and barriers when pursuing volunteering opportunities during her undergraduate career. Equipped with this understanding, she is excited to support LIFT as the Internal/External Student Ambassador to help bridge this gap. With a passion for service, forming meaningful connections, and addressing disparities in the community, Mobeen provides support to students and community partners throughout their journey with LIFT.
Jessica Etou
Jessica is a 2nd year Medical Sciences student and the Social Media and Events ambassador. She joined LIFT because she is passionate about helping students get involved in the community without feeling overwhelmed. As someone who values service and organization, Jessica loves being part of an amazing program that streamlines volunteering, supports diverse partners, and empowers students to recognize the impact of their work.
Nika Kasaeidehkordi
Nika is a third-year nursing student passionate about health, leadership, and uplifting the student experience. She enjoys connecting with others, planning meaningful initiatives, and fostering connection between the Faculty of Health Sciences and the London community. She is excited to be part of the LIFT community and support students in their academic and personal growth.
