Experiential learning, as defined by Western’s experiential learning and typology “is an approach that educators use to intentionally connect learners with practical experiences that include authentic and focused reflection.” Experiential learning benefits learners to increase and apply disciplinary knowledge, develop transferable skills, and strengthen employability, among other benefits. At SEED, we are currently supporting experiential learning through community-engaged learning opportunities and the Medical Sciences Community Outreach Team.
