Yassmin Behzadian
PGY 5 - Chief ResidentBiography: Yassmin Behzadian is currently completing her Respirology Fellowship at Western University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Physiology at Mcgill University before obtaining her medical degree from McMaster University. This was followed by Internal Medicine residency training at Western University. Yassmin's interests in Respirology are wide ranging and include Airway Diseases, Interstitial Lung Disease and Cystic Fibrosis. She also holds a special interest in Medical Education and enjoys working with students at various levels of training. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as travelling.

Jaymee Shell
PGY 5Biography: Jaymee Shell is currently completing her Respirology fellowship at Western University. She completed her medical training at McMaster University and Residency in Internal Medicine at McMaster University. Prior to that, Jaymee obtained her Masters of Science in Biomechanics from McGill University and her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Concordia University, where she was a varsity hockey player for four years. In her spare time, she enjoys playing hockey, using her Peloton bike and travelling.

Shayan Kassirian
PGY 5Biography: Shayan Kassirian is completing his Respirology fellowship at Western University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Science, obtained his medical degree, and completed training in Internal Medicine all at Western University. Shay has a strong interest in research and works closely with Drs. Mitchell and Dhaliwal to put out high impact studies in pleural effusions, EBUS, and sarcoidosis. He’s still exploring what his main career interest will be. On a personal level, Shay’s true passion is cooking, initially having aspirations to become a chef. He has many more kitchen knives than medical textbooks and can spend days working on a single meal, from fermenting to sous vide-ing.

Cameron Ashe
PGY 4Biography: Cameron Ashe is currently completing his Respirology Fellowship at Western University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Acadia University, Nova Scotia. This was followed by a Medical Degree from Dalhousie University. He completed further training in Internal Medicine through Dalhousie University in Saint John, New Brunswick where he served as the Chief Resident and was heavily involved in resident education. Cameron has a wide range of interests in Respirology with a research focus in quality improvement work related to ensuring timely access of lung cancer diagnostic imaging. He has lived in several countries including Chile and Australia fostering a love of travel. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in triathlons, soccer, golf and spending time with his family and Lagotto Romagnolo (Flora).
