Malcolm Blagrove

Biography: Malcolm Blagrove is currently completing his Respirology fellowship at London Health Sciences Centre. After he obtained his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, he completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Western University. His pulmonary interests are wide ranging include pleural disease, interstitial lung disease, vaping-related pulmonary disease and sleep medicine. Outside of medicine, he enjoys travelling, playing music and staying active with outdoor activities. 

Majid Alqatari

Biography: Majid Alqatari is currently completing his Respirology fellowship at Western University. Originally from Saudi Arabia, he obtained his medical degree from Monash University, Malaysia in 2014. Majid started his clinical training in Saudi Arabia, then joined Western University in 2017, where he completed his training in Internal Medicine. He has deep interest in respiratory physiology, and nearly all branches of clinical respirology, and is still exploring his specific career interest. On a personal level, Majid is a family-oriented person, who loves spending time with his wife and kid regardless of the activity. He plays the piano instrument and is fascinated with music theory. He also loves reading and travel.

Biography: Fahad is a graduate of faculty of medicine - King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He completed his training of Internal Medicine in Saudi Arabia before moving to London, Canada for further training in Respirology. His academic interests include research, pulmonary hypertension and interventional pulmonology.  

Max Deschner

Max Deschner

Biography: Max Deschner is completing his Respirology fellowship at Western University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Anthropology at McGill University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Ottawa followed by training in Internal Medicine at Western University. Max has channeled interests in healthcare policy and medical ethics into academic work and editorials on topics including COVID-19 and return to work recommendations for people with chronic respiratory diseases, the effects of electronic cigarettes on lung health and the opioid crisis. He previously served as a national resident representative to the Canadian Medical Association’s Committee on Ethics. 

Ali Malik

Biography: Ali Malik is currently completing his Respirology fellowship at Western University. He completed his medical training at University College Cork, Ireland, and Residency in Internal Medicine at Western University. Prior to that, Ali obtained his Masters in Public Health at Waterloo University and worked as an intern at the United Nations headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. He has a strong interest in public health and the impact of respiratory diseases worldwide. He hopes to pursue Interventional Pulmonology and his research interests include Pleural disease and Quality Improvement.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and travelling with his family.

Biography: I am originally from Toronto where I completed my undergraduate degree in pathology. I then went on to complete my medical degree at Western University where I also did my internal medicine training. My interest in respirology is broad and includes sleep, interventional, and lung imaging. I am involved in residency wellness and mentorship. In my spare time, I enjoy playing music and painting. I also like to cook and am an avid bubble tea connoisseur.

Abdallah Bin Maither

Biography: Abdallah Bin Maither is currently completing his Respirology fellowship at Western University. Originally from Saudi Arabia, he obtained his medical degree from King Saud University in 2012. Abdallah started his clinical training in Saudi Arabia where he has the Saudi Board of Internal Medicine, then joined Western University in 2018, where he completed his training in Internal Medicine. He has a deep interest in respiratory physiology, and special interest in Interventional Respirology wishing to have some innovative idea in this field. On a personal level, Abdallh is a family-oriented person, who loves spending time with his wife and kids regardless of the activity. He like spending time in Gardening and Cooking. He also loves reading about history and Exploring new places.
