Dr. Tapias Pedraza completed her medical degree and residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, graduating with academic distinction and receiving the Javeriana Merit Award for excellence in residency.  She went on to complete an International Microsurgery Fellowship at Ghent University Hospital in Belgium, followed by two fellowships at the University of Toronto in Oncologic and Microvascular Reconstruction and in Breast Reconstruction.  She also completed the Postgraduate Medicine Leadership Certificate Program at the University of Toronto, focussed on leadership in healthcare.
