Cooperation between Vinuniversity (VinUni) and Western University in Ontario, Canada: Unique Opportunity for Academic, Research and Cultural Exchange

VinUni College of Health Sciences and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University have signed a Letter of Intent to pursue cooperative relations in research and education. The two institutions plan to pursue bilateral cooperation including exchange of students, faculty and management staff, joint research and educational collaborations. 

Western University is among the leading comprehensive, research-intensive universities in Canada and belongs to the world’s top 1% best universities according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. This agreement with Western University marks the next significant milestone of VinUni’s journey to become an excellent university with a network of partners consisting of leading universities in the world.

Dr. Saverio Stranges, Chair of the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry will serve as the lead for the Canadian partner. “This partnership will offer new opportunities for collaborative research in population health with a country such as Vietnam, which is rapidly evolving in terms of disease patterns and underlying risk factors. Vietnam’s public health response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been remarkable, and provides lessons for other countries to learn.

Western University is situated in the city of London on a beautiful campus in close proximity to the downtown core. The cooperation with Western University will provide VinUni students with unique academic and cultural exchange opportunities at an outstanding destination. This partnership also engages faculty members of both universities in important preliminary research projects and academic exchange activities in the field of Health Sciences.
