Info and regulations for presenters
- Time commitment: Participants selected to present must be available for the full day (from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and will take part in peer judging. Trainees with accepted abstracts will judge posters in the session opposite their own presentation (for example, morning presenters will judge in the afternoon).
- Lunch: Poster and oral presenters will receive a lunch ticket.
- Engage with other programming: Presenters are encouraged to explore other posters throughout the day and engage with peers across disciplines. Those not selected to present are welcome to attend the full day program as guests. Further details on the keynote lecture and workshops will be available here in February.
Submissions for London Health Research Day are open to:
- Lawson Research Institute of St. Joseph's Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute trainees in the following capacities: undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, residents, clinical fellows, research assistants and associates. Priority for presenting posters will be for learners/trainees first.
- Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry students and trainees in the following capacities: undergraduate (BMSc and BSc Neuroscience), Professional (Medical & Dental students conducting research), graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, residents and clinical fellows.
- Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) trainees in the following capacities: graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
- Graduate students from other Western faculties enrolled in a collaborative graduate program that Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is associated with.
Please note: due to high interest in the event, participation as a poster or oral presenter will be determined through a lottery following the abstract submission deadline. Organizers will notify everyone who submitted an abstract by April 1, 2026 to confirm final presenters
Poster submissions
Only one submission per person is permitted.
- Trainees/scholars may be the first author on only one poster/oral presentation.
- Presentations must reflect current data.
- If you are presenting as part of a group, one student may submit the abstract on behalf of the group. All other group members must register as guests. Only one lunch ticket will be provided per poster submission. If the group receives an award, it will be presented to the student who submitted the abstract.
Poster guidelines
Please note that the cost of printing a poster will be up the individual presenting.
When preparing your poster for presentation, please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure compatibility with the available resources:
- Maximum Poster Size: Your poster's maximum size should not exceed 48 inches in both width and height. The recommended size is 4 feet by 3 feet (48 inches wide by 36 inches tall).
- Consider Layout and Design: Utilize the given space effectively to create an engaging and visually appealing poster. Make sure the content is easily readable from a reasonable viewing distance, and include clear headings, sections, and visuals to organize your information.
- Mounting: Use Velcro fasteners to attach your poster to the board. These will be provided to you on the day of the event. This ensures a secure and damage-free attachment method that allows for easy removal and rearrangement.
