Kalman lab

The Kalman lab focuses on medical devices and technologies relevant to clinical dentistry; specifically, the development of innovative devices, prototype design, fabrication, laboratory testing, clinical evaluation, intellectual property protection, manufacturing considerations and regulatory.

Technologies are designed with the intent of short-term industry translation. Current projects fall under the appropriate Health Canada categories for medical device technology.

About Dr. Les Kalman

Dr KalmanDr. Kalman, DDS, is a General Dentist and Assistant Professor in Restorative Dentistry and the Co-ordinator of the Dental Outreach program. His private research is supported by the Scientific Research and Experimental Development Fund, and the National Research Council. 

Kalman is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the Standards Council of Canada and serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Western Ontario Faculty Association and the Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry.

Dr. Kalman Receives Innovation Award for Patient-Centred Care

Dr KalmanSeptember 2018.  Merck Patient Awards were first presented in 2013. The 2017/18 competition followed a similar process, including formal communications and publication of winning entries to support sharing of best practices in patient-centred care.

Dr. Kalman was among the winners in the last competition ....Congratulations on this much deserved recognition!
