Today, we welcome Vanessa Dumeaux, Pharma, PhD. as a member of the Centre for Translational Cancer Research.

Vanessa Dumeaux joined Western University April 1 as an assistant professor, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.

Dr. Dumeaux received her doctorate (pharmacy) in France. She then obtained her PhD. in molecular epidemiology, a joint degree from the University of Tromso (Norway) and the University of Paris-South XI (France). During her studies, she developed expertise in genomics while working with Professor Borrensen-Dale at the Norwegian Radium Hospital which was among the pioneers in expression profiling of breast carcinomas in collaboration with groups with Stanford University.

After her PhD, Vanessa worked in labs at the University of Paris Descartes, Princeton University, McGill and Concordia Universities. Dr. Dumeaux has a long standing interest in the development of RNA-based biomarker signatures in blood, which can be used to predict disease progression and response to therapy.
