Dr. Shahar Lavi received his BSc and MD from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Rambam Medical Centre, Haifa, Israel.  Subsequently, he completed a research and clinical fellowship in Coronary Physiology, Imaging, and Interventional Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.  During his fellowship he completed the Clinical Research Training Program at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.  In 2008 he completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Toronto General Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Lavi is an Associate Professor at Western University in the Department of Medicine, and Associate Scientist at the London Health Research Institute.  He is the Director of Cardiovascular Interventional Research at the London Health Sciences Centre. 

His research focus is coronary artery disease, myocardial protection and endothelial function.
