Dr. George Jablonsky is a Toronto born graduate of the University of Toronto, with a B.Sc. in 1972 and subsequent Honours degree in Medicine in 1976.  His postgraduate training was at Women's College Hospital, followed by Toronto General Hospital, as a Resident of Medicine.  He was the first Cardiology Fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, from 1978-1979.  He then completed a two-year Canadian Heart Fellowship at Toronto General Hospital.

Dr. Jablonsky is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disesaes (1979 and 1981 respectively).  He received his fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Cardiology in November 1980.  He also holds fellowships in the American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians, American Heart Association, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Jablonsky began his career in London at University Hospital, in July of 1981, as Director of the Coronary Care Unit, a position that he held for 16 years. 

Dr. Jablonsky and his senior colleague, Dr. William Kostuk, pioneered the Percutaneous Translumminal Coronary Angioplasty Program in London in March of 1982.  This program has evolved over the decades and currently has seven interventional cardiologists, who provide round-the-clock 24/7 primary PCI in acute myocardial infarction patients.

In addition to holding five fellowships, Dr. Jablonsky is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, Canadian Medical Protective Association, Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiology, and Ukranian Medical Association of North America.

Dr. Jablonsky has participated, and continues to participate, in numerous collaborative research studies, both locally and internationally.  His current academic appointment is Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Cardiology), Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University.
