Robert Gros, PhD

Rob was an associate professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and a scientist at Robarts Research Institute. He led a research program in vascular biology, with applications in hypertension, diabetes and heart disease, and contributed to life-saving work through the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Rob took great pride in his research and its positive impact on countless lives. He approached his work with passion, curiosity and a commitment to lifelong learning.

In addition to his research activities, he was a dedicated contributor to Western’s academic community, serving as a long-standing member of the health sciences research ethics board and the space and operations committee at Robarts.

Rob was always willing to help anyone, whether with a project, problem or a kind word. Above all else, he was a devoted family man, who loved travelling the world with his wife and children. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and steady presence.
