Announcement: Dr. Glenn Bauman appointed Vice Dean, Clinical Academic Affairs

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Glenn Bauman has been appointed as the Vice Dean, Clinical Academic Affairs at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective December 1, 2025 to November 30, 2030.
Dr. Bauman is a Radiation Oncologist specializing in Genitourinary and Central Nervous System Malignancies. He joined Western University in 1997 and is a Professor in the Departments of Oncology and Medical Biophysics and is past Chair/Chief (2005-2020) of the Department of Oncology. He is also an Associate Scientist at the London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute and is the Director of the Schulich Centre for Translational Cancer Research.
Dr. Bauman received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Western Ontario, where he also completed his residency in Radiation Oncology. He completed a clinical fellowship in Radiation Oncology in the area of adult and pediatric brain tumor treatment at the University of California at San Francisco.
Dr. Bauman’s primary areas of clinical practice are in genitourinary and central nervous system tumors and areas of research interest are multi-modality image guided radiotherapy and cancer imaging.
Dr. Bauman has received numerous academic and research honours, including the Distinguished University Professor Award (2021 – present), Dean’s Award of Excellence (2019), and the Lawson Innovation Award (2017).
As Vice Dean, Clinical Academic Affairs, Dr. Bauman is dedicated to strengthening relationships between Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and our health-care partners, while also enhancing support for clinical faculty across multiple areas. As part of this role, he will assume responsibility for the Faculty Wellbeing portfolio, following the sunset of the Assistant Dean, Faculty Wellbeing position previously held by Dr. Laura Foxcroft. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Foxcroft for her leadership and many contributions in this capacity.
At the same time, we also recognize and thank Dr. Andrea Lum for her significant contributions over the past five years as Vice Dean. Dr. Bauman will be working closely with Dr. Lum in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition as he formally steps into the role on December 1, 2025.
