Announcement: Dr. Peter Wang appointed as Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Peter Wang has been appointed as the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2030.
Dr. Wang joined the Division of Urology and Paediatric Surgery at London Health Sciences Centre’s Children’s Hospital in July 2017, specializing in paediatric urology. That same year, he joined the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University, where he holds cross-appointments in the Departments of Surgery and Paediatrics. He currently holds the academic rank of Associate Professor.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and earned his Doctor of Medicine with Special Training in Research (STIR) from the University of Alberta. He then completed his Urology residency at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, followed by an ACGME-accredited fellowship in paediatric urology at the University of California, Irvine. In addition, Dr. Wang holds a Master of Education in Health Professions, with a focus on Healthcare Educational Leadership, from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Wang is committed to building a medical education system that is inclusive, equitable, and socially accountable, and that meets the needs of Indigenous, rural, and underserved communities while promoting clinical and professional excellence. He is equally dedicated to integrating emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality—into clinical education, ensuring that future physicians are prepared to thrive in a dynamic and technologically advanced healthcare landscape.
As Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, Dr. Wang brings a clear vision for excellence in teaching, curricular innovation, and mentorship. He is dedicated to preparing future physicians to lead and succeed in a world shaped by rapid social, cultural, and technological change.
