Nominations for the 2025 Awards of Excellence are closed.

Schulich Awards of Excellence are designed to demonstrate a tangible appreciation for the outstanding work and commitment of staff members. Nominations will be adjudicated by a committee chaired by a staff member and composed of stakeholders who are knowledgeable of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry environment.

  • All full-time staff who have been employed by the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry for a minimum of two years are eligible (UWOSA, PMA, or PMA eligible) for nomination. Individuals being nominated must be employed at the School at the time of the nomination and remain qualified until the time of adjudication. All nominees will be reviewed for eligibility by Schulich’s Associate Director, Human Resources prior to adjudication by the committee.

  • To be eligible, the staff member must be:

  • All faculty, learners, students, residents, and staff in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry may nominate an individual

  • Award winners may only be re-nominated in the same category five (5) years from the year they received their award; however, previous winners may be nominated for different awards

  • No recipient can receive two awards in the same year, whether as an individual or a member of a team. The adjudication committee has the authority to move a nomination into a different category if they view it to be more applicable to the criteria in a different category

  • Unsuccessful nominees that remain eligible can be re-nominated the following year. The nominator will need to update the nomination package and upload the new package indicating on the online nomination form that it is a re-submission

The Awards:

  • Awards are given in three categories, but to maintain the prestigious nature of all award areas, the number of awards offered each year may vary depending on the breadth and depth of excellent nominations received in each category
  • Award winners will receive a cash prize ranging from $2,000-$5,000 that can be used at the discretion of the recipient
  • Recipients will also receive two complimentary tickets to attend the Awards of Excellence Dinner, one for themselves and one for a guest
